Advantages of Business Process Outsourcing

Many companies have already realized the many benefits of business process outsourcing (BPO). With the current global economic crisis, these benefits have become even more apparent. Time, energy and resources need to be conserved at home in the First World. It would be much cheaper to outsource many tasks to countries in the Third World, like India, China and the Philippines. This will increase productivity and efficiency while cutting down on costs. Companies that outsource business services then become more flexible and nimble.

Outsourced services include manufacturing, software development, web development, finance, accounting, human resources and customer service, among others.

With business process outsourcing, a company does not have to invest in costly assets or set up expensive work structures that will have fixed costs. It will not have to purchase expensive equipment that may have to be amortized for many years and may even become outdated and outgrown with rapid technological advances.

Outsourced business processes are paid for per service. This means a company can immediately adjust to changes that may require more or less work and pay for only exactly what is needed. This flexibility greatly enhances resource management and frees up much capital.

A company that uses business process outsourcing is also able to focus more on its own core competencies. Once a company has identified its most valuable activities for its core business, other secondary activities and processes can be outsourced. The company can then concentrate its key people’s energies and talents on what they do best.

Business process outsourcing, thus, enables a company to expand without sacrificing its agility and speed in responding to changes and opportunities. The usual bottlenecks that arise in bureaucratic operations are eliminated. Expansion is also made possible when more capital is freed up.

One drawback to business process outsourcing may be dependence. A company may become too dependent to its BPO service provider. This will not pose much of a problem, though, because there are numerous service providers to choose from in case the current one fails to meet expectations. Most BPO vendors have similar capabilities in terms of the services they offer. Most also have similar rates.

Companies should, however, beware of unscrupulous BPO vendors who fail to meet service level agreements. Oftentimes, problems arise when there are unclear issues left in the contract or when there are unforeseen changes in requirements within the contract period. Much care must, therefore, be taken in choosing the right BPO service provider.

  1. Outsourcers in the Philippines benefit from the country's high-quality knowledge workers.

The country boasts of 94% literacy rate. It has more students enrolled in universities than most European countries. With 643 IT schools, 400 technical colleges, and 86 colleges and universities, the country produces an estimated 400,000 graduates annually.

It has a large, increasing pool of multi-skilled IT professionals – over 40,000 engineering and IT students join the workforce every year.

The country's educational, healthcare and business systems, which are patterned after the US, also produce high-quality doctors, accountants, and lawyers.

Furthermore, the Philippines has a strong western influence, and an open economy that makes it even more adaptable to other cultures.

Majority of the Philippines' 90 million population speak English. The Filipinos are also known for their excellent facility in acquiring foreign accents and learning various languages (including Japanese, German, French, Spanish and Chinese).

So that ,means that they can also cater to non English BPO assignments.

More secure than some punk or moron hosting apps in the basement or broom closet? Lost laptops and missing patches are the biggest security risk for any business. Same reason your money is more secure in the bank than in your ever so capable hands.

IT is not, nor ever will be, a core competency of most businesses. They exist to deliver some other good or service. They should not be dedicating internal resources to IT services.

Are all you guys high school drop outs or something?

    2) Business Process Outsourcing has a great advantages to the unemployed person who are in the seek of jobs the salary structure of these Companies are started from 8000 and end at 15000.

    Diaadvantages:
1).Companies has to established their leased Line from their country to therespective Country where they open their BPO's .
    2) They has to trained the person of that country so that they are able to speek as well as understand their accent.which is a difficult task.

IS NOT ABOUT SMALLER COSTS. Cause small or big YOU pay them anyway. Is for TOTAL CONTROL of your business, by these enterprises who will force you to use their clouds. They found a way to OWN the internet and your all intentions. You as a small company will pay for leased software, instead of having them like is normal. And NO, to all this shit, no one wants a leased car forever you morons.

You now pay gas bills, power bills and they want you to pay software bills like a slave.

Who maintains the servers in the cloud and from what countries would these be hosted from China, Russia or ???, in order to get the cheapest rate per month. Are we just going to dump our all of our vital information and proprietary business data on public servers and leave them more exposed to hackers? What would prevent a “cloud host” from selling your data to a competitor or giving them a login to your business account. Something to think about I guess.

Sehr gut, leider noch nicht für deustch nur deutschsprachige verfügbar. Wieso viel Geld ind Lizenzen, Infrastruktur stecken und jedes Jahr mit ernormen Aufwand dies am laufen zu halten? Wiso?

Can you please explain how this is more secure

  10. WPBlog Shop says:

It’s more secure because 1. it’s a multi tenant system, so there’s only one version of one app running on one environment. 2. Salesforce (or Google, Amazon, etc.) employs far more security experts/technologies than your average business does. 3. Big customers, like banks, health care providers, etc. audit the system, make demands and ensure it’s up to their standards and 4. all of the people, technologies and processes are certified by groups like SAS 70, SysTrust, ISO 27001, TRUSTe, etc.

Just a quick thought here. This was assigned to you, right? So why are you expecting your work to be done for you? You have the same access to the internet resources, use them. It's possible that something might be learned along the way!!

  12. Free Blog says:

yes, this is the next crap on acaparating all the people’s intentions. welcome to trumman’s show on the entire planet !!!

An example of cloud and the danger it posses :

Adobe installs Photoshop on their servers and lease it. The user won’t have access to it anymore, so they will pay to use it, monthly probably. But wait, at any point they can raise the price and voila, you are THE SLAVE OF ADOBE FOREVER. And so on, for other, you will pay like a slave and they will control all aspects !

There is no place such as the Philippines! Noynoy for chief executive ; )
