Just type “affiliate marketing” or affilate marketing guides and you would get instant access to loads to such products. Provide them your credit card details and voila! you can instantly download the book of your choice.
Although most aaffiliate marketing books are good in their own way, what boils down is to how you implement the knowhow you gained from it PRACTICALLY. Although this may take up some some time, it is to be noted that no books nor any marketing courses can come anywhere close to pure practical experience. You can start with a blog and start writing articles in the niche market of the product that you plan on promoting.

However the disadvantage of a free blog is, your blog can be suspended for whatever reason the site decided to. Imagine if you have done plenty of work on it, get good readership and ranking and then all of a suddden, you have it all wiped out. That's a lot of work wasted.
It's still better to host your own, you own it and can do whatever you want. But the choice is yours.
Buying a domain name and hosting it is not as expensive as what you think.
If you are serious about going into this, you may want to consider investing a little money into this business of yours.

I would make very sure you are employing the right people. Otherwise they will just take your money and you will earn very little. Are you sure you know how all this works? Best to work in reverse here. What do you need the most? Answer:lots & lots of visitors (preferably targetted to what you are providing as an affiliate).
How do you get lots of visitors: By providing something they want to see (content). Getting good positions in the search engines: Through a good website (properly designed and coded).
So, whover you employ to produce the website must be providing design, coding, SEO and preferably a program to get you visitors. This could be (and should be) expensive. Are you sure your website will be proitable enough to pay this back? If you are just doing this and hoping it will work I would suggest you research it a bit deeper
